MAZDA.COMのネームサーバー名を確認したら、思わずほっこりした話

それは、とある事情でWhois情報を見ていた時の話。

Whois情報とは？

Whois情報は、ドメインの所有者やネームサーバー等の情報が記載された情報で、以下のサイトなどで誰でも見る事ができます。

例えば、このブログはigari-jp.comというドメインを使っているのですが、このドメインを上記サイトで検索すると、このように出てきます。

英語で書かれているので何のこっちゃの話かもしれませんが、ドメインの所有者等がここでわかります。

とはいえ、例えドメインの所有者が個人でも、だいたいはドメイン取得業者の情報を代わりに公開しています。 igari-jp.comはエックスサーバーでサーバーを借りた際に一緒にドメインを取得しているので、Registrant Name（ドメイン名登録者名）が Xserver Xserver Inc.となっています。

これ本物のマツダのサイト？

で、どうしてWhois情報を見ていたかというと… とある情報を探しにGoogle検索をしていた時、検索結果にmazda.comというドメインのサイトにある情報がヒットしました。

mazda.comといえば、ドメインの示すとおりマツダが所有しているはずのドメイン。 アクセスしてみるとわかりますが、海外向けのマツダのサイトです。

パソコン関係を検索していたのに、mazda.com？ しかも、日本語で書かれているのです。

おかしい…

ということで、mazda.comが本当にマツダの所有なのかが気になり、Whois情報を調べる事にしました。 下記がmazda.comのWhois情報です。

登録者を示すRegistrant NameがREDACTED FOR PRIVACYとなっているので、登録者名を隠して登録してありました。 ですが、ネームサーバーにmazda.co.jpが指定されていたので、間違いなくマツダが所有しているドメインでしょう。

ということで、Googleの検索結果に出てきたサイトは、恐らく何かしらの技を使ってなりすましているサイトでしょう。

「やっぱりそうかー」と思い、ふとmazda.comのネームサーバーを見ると、こんなアドレスが。

なんと、マツダのネームサーバーに入っていたのは、かつてのマツダの名車であるRX-7。

RX-7はロータリーエンジンを搭載した、マツダの代表的な車。 今は販売されていませんが、今でも中古市場では程度の良い車体は高値で取引し続けられています。

今は販売していないけれど、こんなところで名前が残り続けているのに、マツダがRX-7を大事にしているという事が見て取れます。

なんだか、ほっこりした出来事でした。
